Although the recent memory of welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is of him knocking out opponents and displaying permuted striking skills, his path to the welterweight gold was set upon his foundation in wrestling. It was his grappling proficiency that saw him get the better of then welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
It has been reported and confirmed by Gilbert Burns, that Usman has been helping him in preparation for his fight against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 273. Usman’s pedigree in wrestling is renowned, and the Nigerian Nightmare has never been taken down in a fight on official records.

Conor McGregor shrugs off claims that Kamaru Usman is the P4P number one
During an interview with The Mac Life, Conor McGregor had confirmed that he will not be returning to the lightweight division and that he has set his sights on Kamaru Usman. Mcgregor is chasing the ground-breaking ‘Triple Champion’ status and the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ stands on his way.
Both fighters have poked fun at each other on various occasion, and Kamaru had even offered to fight Mcgregor in the past. The ‘Notorious’ one ridiculed Kamaru’s claim as the P4P king by commenting with a laughing emoji.
