Conor McGregor suffered a leg break during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264

Conor McGregor’s hopes of exacting revenge over Dustin Poirier ended when he suffered a leg break (ankle to be precise) at UFC 264.

The fight was awarded to Poirier, due to TKO by means of a doctor stoppage. A raging McGregor was seen fuming during the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

While being stretchered off, he was seen waving to the crowd with his head held high.

In a recent Tweet he posted, the Irishman fired shots at Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva who were victims of quite a similar leg break.

Silva suffered a leg break during his fight against Weidman in 2013, and Weidman broke his leg in 2021, during his fight against Uriah Hall.

Both the fighters were left writhing in pain, and could hardly even move while being stretchered off.

McGregor pointed out the contrast between the way he dealt with the leg break, and how Silva and Weidman dealt with the same.

He also captioned the post:

“Life is not what happens to you but how you handle what happens to you.”

Opinion: Conor McGregor’s injury was nowhere as serious as Anderson Silva’s or Chris Weidman’s

While Conor McGregor only had his ankle snapped, Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva had their entire leg broken. Weidman, especially suffered multiple broken bones. He has been finding it difficult to walk even now.

Replays of the same show both the fighters’ legs flopping around like spaghetti.

A fan pointed out the same in McGregor’s replies:
