Conor McGregor suffered a brutal leg injury in the trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264
Conor McGregor’s plans of exacting revenge over Dustin Poirier ended in dismay after the Irishman suffered a broken ankle at the very end of the first round. (UFC 264)
The fight was awarded to Poirier via. TKO due to a doctor stoppage.
McGregor underwent surgery the next day, and has been recovering ever since. It has been over 2 months since that nasty injury, and McGregor recently provided an update on the same.
He attended the recently concluded VMAs. In fact, he was one of the special hosts at the show as well.
In a recent interview with Adam’s Apple, a day after the VMAs McGregor stopped by as he was making his way to the car, for an interview.
Speaking about his leg injury, McGregor stated that he felt good “to be back on his feet.”
However, the Irishman claimed that the road to recovery is still long, and that he “is not advised to kick yet.”
Here is what he had to say:
“I feel good man, back on the feet, back on the feet…I feel like I could kick right now. I honestly feel like I could kick right now. But, I’ve just got to listen to the doctors. I have to listen to the people guiding me…Still a long way…I feel like I can kick now. I’m not advised to kick yet.”
Little did people expect Conor McGregor to have a run-in with rapper Machine Gun Kelly.
The Irishman appeared to throw a drink at the 30-year old, before almost coming to blows with him.
It is not exactly known as to what caused the fight. However, there have been reports of McGregor asking MGK for a picture and the rapper not obliging.
