What’s next for Conor McGregor after his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264
Conor McGregor suffered a disappointing loss against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264.
The trilogy bout saw McGregor snap his ankle at the very end of the first round, which saw the fight being awarded to Poirier via. TKO due to a doctor stoppage.
McGregor was slapped with a 6-month medical suspension following the loss, which would probably see him out for the rest of 2021.
In the wake of this – “Who will Conor McGregor fight next?, has been the question in everyone’s minds.
In a recent interview with the Schmo, UFC Bantamweight Urijah Faber revealed who between Poirier and Nate Diaz should fight McGregor next.
He believed Diaz would the right man to face McGregor, since he felt that would be an intriguing matchup skillset wise.
Faber also highlighted Diaz’s ‘huge clout’.
He was quoted as saying:
“I would say the 209, you know? Those guys both have some big clout and a long history. Everyboy is calling out Diaz because he has his clout, and he has that win over Conor… I think as far as skillset wise, that’s always an intriguing matchup.”
Urijajh Faber reacts to Conor McGregor’s UFC 264 post-fight interview
Many an angry word were uttered by McGregor at the post-fight interview following UFC 264 loss.
While interviewed by Joe Rogan, McGregor despite being down and out, threatened Poirier and his wife Jolie, whilst already laying the platform for the next fight.
Speaking about the same in an interview with the Schmo, Urijah Faber said, while also acknowledging McGregor still being at the top of the pecking order.
“At the very top (of the pecking order)…What a comical and strange interview. Basically, guy’s got a severed leg in half and he’s making all sorts of strange comments and whatnot…It was pretty comical.”
