Conor McGregor took a big L in the latest UFC rankings update

Conor McGregor suffered a horrific injury in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier, in the main event of UFC 264.

The mishap took place right at the end of the first round. Upon a quick check from the officials, he was deemed unfit to continue, and the fight was awarded to Poirier via. TKO by means of a doctor stoppage.

Poirier (at least for now) thereby, settled the scores in the rivalry, going 2-1 up. He also earned a lightweight title shot against Charles Oliveira.

As for McGregor, the Irishman hit a new low. Never has he ever lost two fights in a row. This resulted in him slipping further two places (lightweight) in the latest UFC rankings update.
