MMA superstar Conor McGregor has finally resumed proper training ahead of his much-anticipated return, probably by next year. The ‘Notorious’ one suffered a horrific injury at UFC 264, when he clashed against Dustin Poirier for their rubber fight. However the Irish star still remains to be the glare of public interest, and has called out fights with the likes of Charles Oliveira and Kamaru Usman to name a few.

MMA experts and fighters are all playing matchmakers for the Notorious, while some are even criticizing his training methods. Prominent amongst those is former double champion himself Henry Cejudo, who has been at loggerheads with the Irish man.

Speaking with Mike Tyson of the Fight Card podcast, Cejuod touched up on what fight would best suit Conor whenever he chooses to return. Mike Tyson replied by saying,

“After a defeat, you should do a couple of fights to get your feet wet,” He continued, “Conor, I think you should build your confidence up and go do what you do: win excitingly.”

Cejudo proposed the idea of a fight with Tony Ferguson, who has been on a downward spiral himself. “Well, that’s a tough fight,” Tyson said. “He’s a warrior, regardless if he loses, He makes exciting fights. It’s hard to beat that guy. … No big-time guy, let him get three fights and build his confidence back up. Every fight the opponent goes to a higher level.”

‘Someone’s in big trouble upon my return’ – Henry Cejudo trains with Mike Tyson ahead of his return inside the octagon

Ahead of UFC 273, Korean Zombie spent most of his camp with Henry Cejudo in preparation for Volkanovski. Although Zombie showed immense heart and courage, he wasn’t given any bandwidth to showcase his improvements by the Aussie. The Aussie’s performance triggered the competitor inside Henry Cejudo.

Although the UFC has made it clear that they are not interested in giving Cejudo an immediate shot at the 145 lbs. gold, it is likely that Cejudo will return to face bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling. Regardless, Cejudo has resumed training in full swing, and looks forward to returning to action by the year-end.

Henry Cejudo was seen alongside heavyweight boxing legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson on his show the Hotboxing podcast on several occasions. The pair even share a boxing trainer together in the name of Rafael Cordeiro. Cordiero has been training Mike recently, even when he fought fellow boxing legend Roy Jones.

Cejudo posted a video of him hitting the mitts with Cordeiro, while Mike Tyson watches with an observant and scrutinizing eye. He posted a video on Twitter with the caption,

‘Dissecting the craft of inside body work with Uncle Mike. Someone’s in big trouble upon my return.
