Chris Weidman has been recovering after suffering a horrific broken leg at UFC 261

Weidman had a night to forget at UFC 261. He was coming into the event brimming with confidence, with hopes of going on another surge towards the title. But little did he know that he would be staring at something that would probably alter his career.

Just 17 seconds into his fight with Uriah Hall, Weidman had his leg snapped after throwing a strong right leg kick. He was left wincing in pain. The fight was waved off and awarded to Uriah Hall.

Weidman was quickly rushed to the hospital. He was operated on the next day, and has been recovering since then.

A recent video of Weidman walking on an anti-gravity treadmill, just two weeks after his nasty injury, has emerged. He can be seen taking small steps on the AlterG treadmill which is based on NASA Differential Air Pressure technology.

And, fellow UFC fighter, Conor McGregor was pleased to see the ‘All American’ recovering. He took to Twitter exclaiming that it was, “excellent to see”.

Chris Weidman thanks Conor McGregor for his support

Acknowledging Conor McGregor’s tweet in support of him, Weidman thanked the Irishman.

It was a class act by both the fighters, especially McGregor for showing his support for the badly-hurt Weidman, on a public platform.

With the way Weidman has been recovering, he might go on to probably do an Anderson Silva. Silva had suffered a very similar injury in December 2013 at UFC 168, and it had been coincidentally against Weidman himself.

Silva then went on to make a comeback in just 13 months at UFC 183. Hopefully Weidman does the same as well.
