Conor McGregor has shared his prediction for the upcoming trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264
Conor McGregor is just a week away from his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. The pair will be headlining UFC 264 on the 10th of July in Las Vegas.
Having lost the previous fight to Poirier via. knockout, McGregor looks to be more focused going into this fight.
And it surely is make or break for the Irishman, as a loss once again might send him careening out of lightweight relevance.
In his latest tweet, ‘The Notorious’looked to be high on confidence. Conor McGregor quote tweeted Nick Peet of unibet.com sharing his prediction that Poirier would be light work.
Nick Peet’s tweet read:
“D-Day for @TheNotoriousMMA – why next Saturday’s @UFC main event is a defining moment in Conor McGregor’s fighting legacy… 10 days out and I am absolutely jacked already! #MMA #PoirierMcGregor3.”
McGregor replied:
“Let’s go big lad, light work. Murder shots. #BookIt“
The winner of the fight will be taking on lightweight champion Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title.
UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten reveals what would happen if Conor McGregor loses at UFC 264
McGregor will be having his back against the wall when he faces Poirier at UFC 264.
UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten explained that a loss for McGregor would have affect him mentally and all his net worth would mean nothing.
Rutten highlighted the importance of wrapping up one’s career with a bunch of wins. He was quoted as saying:
“It depends how (he loses). If he is going to get knocked out again, yeah that’s not going to be good for him. But not only that, that’s not going to be good for him mentally as well. He can tell me whatever – ‘Oh no, I’ve got $200 million in the bank”, or whatever, it doesn’t matter, you’re a fighter. At the end of your career, you rather would have wrapped up your career with a bunch of wins, than with a loss. This is simply how we are, because we always want to perform at the highest level. So, I think that is going to give him a lot of pressure.”
