Conor McGregor has a strong Instagram game and, is one of the top Instagram earners in the world
Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier is fast approaching and the mind games from the Irishman are in full flow.
He is back to being at his ‘Notorious’ best – a mere shadow of how he was against Poirier at UFC 257.
Many believe it was McGregor’s ‘anti-trash talking’ nature that cost him the rematch against the ‘Diamond.’
With the fight inching closer – hardly a week away, McGregor has taken to Instagram to sound off yet another warning to his rival, Poirier.
This time McGregor opted for a famous ‘Jake Paul’ reference. A couple of months ago, Paul famously stole Floyd Mayweather’s hat during a pre-fight faceoff between his brother Logan Paul and Mayweather.
Despite being beaten by Mayweather’s entourage, once they got hold of him, Paul went home and began selling merchandise under the name – Gotcha Hat. He even changed his Twitter name and bio to Gotcha Hat, and had the same for a while.
Alluding to this, McGregor posted a picture of catching Poirier clean with his right hand, the shot probably landing on Dustin’s ear.
McGregor captioned it: “Gotcha Ears.”
Jack Paul acknowledges Conor McGregor referencing him
Paul was quick to post a comment on McGregor’s post. He was quite chuffed that McGregor had used his reference.
Paul wrote referring to McGregor as ‘old man’:
“I’m glad I could teach you something old man.”
During late 2020, Paul had been quite vocal in his callout of McGregor. ‘The Problem Child’ had just beaten Nate Robinson in his second bout back then, and was riding the high horse.
Now that he has begun finding worthy opponents without much effort, his disrespectful attitude towards MMA stars has come down a bit.
