Conor McGregor decided to share one positive from his UFC 257 loss to Dustin Poirier

Conor McGregor might have lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 but he is still seeing the bright side of things.

While his leg was shattered by some of Poirier’s kicks, McGregor did have some good hits at his rival. Early on, McGregor tagged Poirier well and even the Diamond responded to that. McGregor tried to tag Poirier a lot more but he was ultimately caught out by The Diamond.

The Irishman has been training hard since the loss and has posted several updates on the same. A third fight seems set to take place in the summer, according to White, and McGregor hinted at something he could be working on in the future.

He posted a slow motion take from his UFC 257 loss to Poirier on Instagram. This focused on some of his jabs without any coil and was about his lead paw.

Poirier was hit with this and this was a tactic that Kamaru Usman also used at Gilbert Burns recently.

McGregor seems to be going back to his old cocky self after the loss to Poirier. This was a different side of the Irishman UFC fans saw before UFC 257 where he was respectful of his rival.

However, all of that seems out for now as the former UFC champion has turned up his training. He also posted a video of him doing the same kind of kicks that destroyed his leg at UFC 257.

It is to be seen how the trilogy between McGregor and Poirier goes. The pair are 1-1 after two outings and the third one can go either way.

Poirier has the edge after his latest performance. However, a motivated McGregor can never be ruled out, especially if he goes back to his edgy roots.
