Conor McGregor will be a relieved man after his 2020 sexual assault case was dropped by the officials from Bastia.

In September 2020, McGregor was arrested by French officials on grounds of sexual assault and indecent exposure. He was released a while later after some questioning, but McGregor and his team have denied all the allegations, to this day.

In what will be a massive relief to ‘The Notorious’ and his family; 8 months on since that ‘woeful’ incident the officials have decided to drop the case, owing to which no charges will be pressed against The Irishman.

Lack of proper evidence seems to be the main reason behind the dropping of the charges. The information was first revealed by TMZ who had obtained the letter, originally written in French.

Here is what the statement read (translated to English)

“The examination of the present proceedings does not justify any criminal prosecution since:

– “The facts or the circumstances of the facts of the proceedings could not have been clearly established by the investigations.

– “The pieces of evidence are therefore not sufficient for the offense to be constituted and for criminal prosecution to be engaged.” [via MMA Junkie and TMZ]

McGregor can now shift his focus fully towards the upcoming heated clash against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

Conor McGregor has found himself in hot water a lot of times

This recent sexual assault case is just one of the three he has been accused of. The other two being, sexual assault of a woman at a hotel in Dublin, back in 2018 and another assault on a woman in a car in October 2019.

Besides this, McGregor has been caught speeding quite a number of times, punching an elderly man at a Dublin, way before he became famous.

And who can forget the attack on Khabib’s bus at UFC 223 media day and his consequent ‘jumping out of the cage’ attack on Khabib’s teammates at UFC 229.
