“Incredible” – Conor McGregor reacts as Irish artist Hozier achieves unique feat on Spotify

Irish singer-songwriter Hozier received words of praise from UFC star Conor McGregor

A struggling Hozier released a song titled ‘Take Me to Church’ in the month of September, back in 2013.

No sooner did he release the song, than it went viral. The catchy chorus and the deep lyrics made the song an amazing hit.

The song focuses on the ‘Homophobic Attitude’ of the conservative churches, especially in Ireland.

Hozier’s popularity grew astronomically and within a year the Irishman reached global fame. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 for almost three weeks during late 2014, only behind Taylor Swift’s Blank Space.

As of today, the video song has over 470 million views on YouTube. And yesterday the song joined the ‘Spotify Billions club’ after it was streamed over a billion times, and Hozier was the only Irish artist in that entire list.

Fellow Irishman and ‘The Face of the Fight Game’ Conor McGregor tweeted, congratulating Hozier. “Incredible Irish Artist,” he wrote.

With just three weeks left for the fight, both McGregor and Poirier have amped up their training routines, and will be looking forward to being in their best shape, come that night in Las Vegas.

The fight headlines a stacked card, which also features a welterweight bout between Stephen Thompson and Gilbert Burns.
