Conor McGregor is gearing up for his upcoming trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier
‘The Notorious’ has been extensively training for his trilogy bout against Poirier. The pair’s rivalry dates back to September 27, 2014 when McGregor saw off Poirier in no time, winning via. TKO in the very first round.
Poirier got his revenge more than 6 years later, at the recently concluded UFC 257. He evened the score in their rivalry knocking the Irishman out for the very first time in his MMA career.
The immediate aftermath saw the pair agree upon a trilogy bout, and after a minor blip, it was made official. Now they are all set to face off at UFC 264 on the 10th of July, this year. The event is all set to take place in front of a full house in Vegas.
Recently, The Irishman took to Twitter to answer ‘fan questions’, and was asked who has been his easiest opponent ever. McGregor’s answer was plain and simple. He replied “Dustin 1”, where he knocked Poirier out in the first round, which marked the beginning of their rivalry.
Michael Page left Derek Anderson with a broken nose at the recently concluded Bellator 258. A brutal leg kick from Page shattered Anderson’s nose. After the end of the first round, the fight was ended due to a doctor stoppage, and Page won via TKO(doctor stoppage).
McGregor who belongs to the same management team as Page’s – Paradigm Sports, reacted to his knockout on Instagram with just a word.
He just posted “SHOT!” and tagged their management team, Paradigm Sports.
It is worthy to note that Page was supposed to fight Anderson twice, at Bellator 179 and Bellator London 2.
