Conor McGregor displays his love for football as he shows off his pub team’s jerseys
UFC lightweight fighter and former UFC ‘champ champ’ Conor McGregor also has a soft spot for football. He has made a sizeable donation to his local football team in the past.
And now, he was out showing his pub’s new jerseys on Instagram earlier this week. ‘The Notorious One’ posted a series of photos wearing two sleek white football kits.
The kits are of his pub football team, Blackforge FC. And he captioned it saying that he can’t wait for the ‘games to begin’.
The first photo seems to be of the home kit with a white base and two neat stripes of red and bottle green on the right side.
The club’s name as well as the sponsor, which is Conor McGregor’s brand of whiskey, Proper Twelve, is written in the middle.
The away kit features a distinct pattern. With green and black stripes and light yellow accents, it makes for a great viewing while sticking to the traditional Irish colour.
His caption indicates that there is a chance he could be playing in the pub league as well. And that’s something to look forward to; if it happens, of course.
One of his greatest UFC rivals, Khabib Nurmagomedov, is a massive football fan and has shown off his footballing skills on the pitch as well.
So if the Irishman wants to give football a go, the Russian MMA star would undoubtedly be keeping a watch on that.
And know knows? Maybe we get to see the two settle out their differences on the pitch one day. It seems like the only way these two would ever face off against each other.
Khabib looks like he is going to make his retirement official. ‘The Eagle’ called it quits last year but hasn’t made the decision official yet.
