Despite not being in the best of form, Conor McGregor continues to be the PPV king
Conor McGregor has fought twice in the year 2021. The first was at UFC 257 in January, against Dustin Poirier and the next, UFC 264, in July, once against Poirier.
UFC’s holding company Endeavor recently stated that they had the most successful nine months in their history.
A large part of their success was due to some marquee UFC PPV events. Although a chunk of UFC mega-events contributed to the success, only two stood out – UFC 257 and UFC 264.
In fact, these were the only PPVs that crossed a million buys. Both were headlined by McGregor.
The exact PPV buys for UFC 266 and UFC 268 haven’t been revealed yet. UFC 268 would have certainly hit the 1 million mark.
While UFC 257 sold 1.6 million PPVs. UFC 264 sold 1.8 million. The next highest was UFC 259, Blachowicz vs Adesanya which sold 800 thousand PPVs.
The Mac Life Twitter account posted the same on their handle. Quote tweeting the same, McGregor wrote:
“Proper Incredible! Congrats @Endeavor, @ufc.”
Conor McGregor sends his wishes to ailing fan
Conor McGregor sent his heartfelt wishes to an ailing fan after she called him an inspiration.
The terminally ill fan who was once a medic thanked McGregor and Proper No.12 whiskey for their support towards first responders.
She wrote, “Thank you @TheNotoriousMMA@ProperWhiskey for your continued unwaivering support. Moved from Dublin to NJ, became a medic. I was blessed and honored. I can no longer do what I loved most being terminally ill. You’re a true inspiration, god bless you.”
McGregor replied:
“We are with you all the way Andreya! God bless you and yours.”
