Priscila Cachoeira was unable to cut weight and Cortney Casey is without a fight at UFC Las Vegas 12
UFC star Cortney Casey will not be fighting against Priscila Cachoeira at UFC Las Vegas 12 due to weight cut issues.
The Brazilian Cachoeira didn’t have the best of camps training for the fight. She first got Covid-19 and then trained despite having a fever.
While the Brazilian couldn’t make the 125 limit, the first was then shifted to 135 pounds. However, the Brazilian then slipped and hurt herself in a bathtub and was sent to a hospital in Las Vegas.
Update: Priscila Cachoeira was having a tough weight cut and had already agreed to moving the fight to 135, but slipped and fell while cutting weight, hitting the back of her head on the bathtub. Cachoeira is fine but still under observation at a local hospital in Las Vegas. https://t.co/uwR3NcM6JZ

The UFC star was fine but under observation and Casey was quick to send a positive message for her rival.
Casey was hopeful that Cachoeira was doing well and she could be able to travel back without any problems. The American also added that she did everything she could to ensure the fight went on
To my Fans, Family & Friends. Unfortunately I won't be fighting tomorrow night. I did everything in my power to make sure this fight would happen, but unfortunately my opponent fell short on her end. I hope she is ok physically & mentally & she is able to travel home soon.

Casey also thanked Dana White and Mick Maynard for helping her out as she missed out on a big fight in her career.
Thank you to @danawhite for taking care of me and thank you @Mickmaynard2 for doing all you could to make this happen as well. I love my job and I'm happy to be apart of this amazing company. #OnToTheNextOne

Willing to do everything for the fight
Drakkar Klose, another MMA star, was quick to tweet how tough Casey was. He claimed that the American was willing to fight her rival at 135 and was even open to fighting her if she missed that weight.
All I can say @CastIron_Casey is a mothafuckin Gangster. Her fight was suppose to be @ 125 but the girl couldn't make that so she agreed to 135. She was prepared to fight her even if she missed that weight. I don't know many fighters who would agree to do that #gangstershit @ufc

Casey would have been keen to get over her latest results as she lost to Gillian Robertson in June. The 33-year-old is 9-8 in her MMA career and she has had an up and down time in the UFC.
She has had a big win or two over Angela Hill but has also lost to big names such as Joanna Calderwood and Cynthia Calvillo.
