Cris Cyborg is a former UFC Champion and hinted at taking on Amanda Nunes in a UFC vs Bellator clash
Former UFC Champion Cris Cyborg is enjoying her time as a champion on Bellator but called out Dana White to set up a huge fight.
The former champion is considered as one of the greatest MMA stars ever and even at 35, she has been dominating opponents.
Cyborg put her Bellator Featherweight title on the line at Bellator 249 against Ariene Biencowe. The Cyborg picked up her first win via submission thanks to a rear-naked choke, and almost immediately called out the UFC president.
A fan had tweeted if the 35-year-old was keen to take on Amanda Nunes, a two-division UFC champion again.
Cyborg asked White if he was keen on setting up a fight that the fans wanted to watch the most:
Cross promotional fights aren’t all that regular for the UFC or Bellator since they are rival brands.
However, such a card would be spectacular as champion vs champion could take place and decide which promotion is the best.
Cyborg vs Nunes took place at UFC 232 and it was the current UFC star who picked up the win. This was for the UFC Featherweight title and many consider Nunes to be the greatest female MMA star of all-time.
Cyborg has had two losses in her MMA career with one coming in her first fight. The second one came at the hands of Nunes, and it will be interesting to see if White ever agrees to such a card.
Nunes and Cyborg have dominated their respective promotions and division too. A Nunes vs Cyborg rematch could be one of the biggest fights in MMA history too.
The stakes would be high in this clash given the reputation of both promotions, but this is a fight that would get a lot of fans excited.
