“Doesn’t bother me” – Cris Cyborg shares her thoughts on Amanda Nunes being called the GOAT

Cris Cyborg suffered a devastating loss at the hands of Amanda Nunes at UFC 232

Cyborg currently plies her trade in the Bellator Women’s featherweight division, where she is the champion. The UFC legend made her switch to the 2nd best MMA promotion in the world, only last year, and in just two fights, she had the title wrapped around her.

And not long ago, she was an indomitable force in the UFC. She was finishing opponents with ease, and stayed undefeated in the promotion for more than two and a half years, until she faced Amanda Nunes.

Cyborg was knocked out in the very first round by Nunes, thereby losing her featherweight title. It was that day when Nunes became a two-division women’s champion, and almost reached GOAT status.

Now, Nunes being hailed as the GOAT has become pretty common, and in fact she lives up to it. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Cyborg was asked to give her thoughts on Nunes being called the GOAT.

Helwani specifically asked if Nunes being hailed as the GOAT, bothered her.

While Cyborg did say that it didn’t bother her, she said being called the GOAT is just a point of view. She also subtly pointed out to Nunes having 4 losses, and herself having just 2.

Cyborg said:

Cris Cyborg opens up on fighting Kayla Harrison

Kayla Harrison has been poleaxing almost anyone coming her way in the PFL. She is currently 9-0 in her professional MMA career.

Her contract is set to expire at the end of this year, and a possible move to the Bellator seems likely.

Cris Cyborg was asked by Ariel Helwani if she would fight Harrison if the PFL champion joins the Bellator.

Cyborg said:

“Yeah maybe, you know? Maybe. If she is gonna be in the Bellator for sure, we can make this fight happen.”

Cyborg also stated that she was ready to move to the lightweight division at any given time.
