Elon Musk has finally bought social media outlet Twitter
The world was discussing just one event on Monday night and that was Elon Musk buying Twitter for an incredible $44billion.
Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is known to make outlandish statements and well, do as he pleases.
There were some jokes back in 2017 with a few wanting Musk to buy Twitter back then. However, he has finally completed that purchase and many shared their thoughts on the same.
Dan Hardy, a former UFC star, also came up with his own take in all this. The Englishman wanted Musk to now buy the UFC and even used the hashtag of Free Speech.
Free speech is something that Musk has been advocating for a while on Twitter, and the Tesla CEO also shared some of his own thoughts on the same.
The UFC is operated by Zuffa, which is a subsidiary of the Endeavor Group Holdings. Dana White is the current president of the multi-billion dollar sports company, and frankly, it would be crazy for them to sell the promotion.
What does Elon Musk’s Twitter buy mean for social media?
Musk tweeted out a statement about what he sees taking place on Twitter. The entrepreneur claimed that he was going to allow for more free speech but also planned to reduce spambots.
Twitter has seen a lot of hate-filled messages being spread across the platform, and that is partly due to the anonymous nature of the profiles its users create.
It will be interesting to see how Musk plans to combat this, especially with his plans of authenticating all human users on the site.
