Dan Hooker is already planning for his next UFC fight and it could come before the end of the year
New Zealand UFC Lightweight star Dan Hooker is ready to face two big hitters in his next face. The Kiwi was in action against Dustin Poirier in the last UFC Fight Night event.
The pair had a go at each other in a slug-fest with Poirier coming out on top. Hooker had his moments too and many claimed this was the fight of the year.
The Kiwi star is now back in New Zealand and under quarantine as a safety measure due to the coronavirus.
Hooker still had time to feature on Submission Radio as he spoke about his future. He was asked what was his next fight, even though he was still carrying the war marks from his outing against Poirier.
Hooker named Charles Oliveira as his next logical opponent but also that he was willing to face Tony Ferguson under the circumstances:
“They shuffled the rankings around a little, [Paul] Felder dropped below [Charles] Oliveira and Dustin’s moved above Tony [Ferguson].
“It is interesting times obviously, the two fights that make the most sense are Dustin vs Tony and then me vs Oliveira.
“Those two fights make the most sense, right?”
Ferguson was also an option for Hooker, but that was only if Poirier was willing to skip the rest of the year, something the Diamond spoke about after his win on Saturday.
The Hangman was still willing to fight more and was open to clashing before the end of the year.
It will be interesting to see if Hooker is back in action quickly. A clash against Oliveira would be great but getting to see him take on Ferguson would be fantastic too.
It would be two of the biggest hitters in the division going at it, and that could be a fight of the year contender too.
The Hangman might have lost to the Diamond, but he certainly won a lot of people over with his stellar performance.
