Dan Hooker would love a featherweight scrap against top-ranked Brian Ortega

After having given fans a ton of entertainment in the lightweight division, 6ft tall Dan Hooker announced his return to the featherweight division recently.

The Kiwi had been competing at 155 since 2017. Having lost a foothold in the rankings, Hooker once again had the chance to get back amongst the cream of the crop when he took on Islam Makhachev at UFC 267.

Hooker lost to Makhachev in the very first round, following which he announced his move to 145lbs.

With ‘The Hangman’s first opponent at 145 yet to be decided, it looks like he might have someone in mind who interests him – number 2 ranked Brian Ortega.

A fan recently took to Twitter to express his desire to see a fight between Hooker and Ortega go down in 2022.

Quote tweeting the same, Hooker replied with a couple of Heart-eyes emoji.

Brian Ortega is coming off a war against Alexander Volkanovski

Brian Ortega showed why he is one of the toughest fighters in the roster when he took on Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 266.

Ortega was beaten to a pult by the Aussie but never gave up. At one point, Ortega could barely see since his orbital bones were shattered.

‘T-City’ hung on till the end, and also gave Volk a run for his money.
