Dan Hooker predicts Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 4

Fellow lightweight Dan Hooker shared his views on how a fourth fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier would go

Conor McGregor suffered a rather bizarre loss at UFC 264, against Dustin Poirier. McGregor had revenge in his mind when he headed into that trilogy fight against Poirier, after having been knocked out by the ‘Diamond’ at UFC 257.

‘The Notorious’ left ankle snapped at the very end of the first round. The officials then waved off the fight, and awarded it to Poirier – TKO due to a doctor stoppage.

Although, there is a general consensus that Poirier would have won the fight in the later rounds, talks of a fourth fight between the pair began doing the rounds, since Poirier didn’t get the finish he would have wanted to.

More recently, fellow lightweight Dan Hooker spoke to Submission Radio and shared his thoughts on how a fourth fight between McGregor and Poirier would play out, if it ever happened.

‘The Hangman’ claimed that the fourth fight would be no different from the last two fights:

“Nah…Nah…Sells a lot of pay-per-views, that’s probably why it will happen. Nah, you can’t say that. He’s recovering from a leg break and whatever. Dustin’s preparing, has another fight, more time in the Octagon. He’s like fit and healthy.”

McGregor is currently recovering from the ankle injury after undergoing surgery the next day after the mishap.

Hooker believes that McGregor, currently recovering from an ankle injury would not stand a chance against Poirier who has been unbelievably active inside the Octagon, and has been fighting much more often than McGregor.

Conor McGregor has had ankle troubles of late

“It was the same reason why I didn’t think there’d be much of a difference from the second fight to the third fight. Just not enough time for adjustments. How on Earth is he going to make those adjustments with a broken leg and surgery and rehab and all the things like that.”
