Dan Hooker started a Twitter war with UFC heavyweight Jon Jones after cheekily weighing in on Chael Sonnen’s arrest
Chael Sonnen’s recent arrest has resulted in an online war between Dan Hooker and Jon Jones. Sonnen was detained by the Las Vegas police – charges of domestic violence.
It later came to light that Sonnen manhandled 5 men single-handedly following alleged misconduct with his wife.
Hooker weighed in on the same, whilst also throwing shade at Jones who had been arrested a couple of months ago for assaulting his wife.
‘The Hangman’ wrote:
“Imagine beating up 5 people and not one of them is your wife. (JJones RN).”
More recently, Jones replied to Hooker stating that the Kiwi was slandering him to get closer to Israel Adesanya (Hooker’s teammate).
It is also worth noting that Jones and Izzy had a nasty verbal spat on Twitter last year. A fight between the two would almost came to fruition.
Jones’ Tweet read:
“@danthehangman, every opportunity you’ve had to make a name for yourself and be closer to your boy Izzy, you dropped the ball. You can’t achieve greatness, so you hop online and attack someone who has. Sounds about right.”
“I was triggered by your disngenuous attempt” – Dan Hoooker responds
Dan Hooker didn’t stop there. He hit back at Jones, drawing a comparison between both the arrests.
Hooker’s Tweet read:
“I was triggered by your disingenuous attempt to bring attention to Chael’s situation. He was arrested for defending his wife, you were arrested for assaulting yours.”
Hooker, recently stepped down to the featherweight division. He is yet to make his debut.
