HomeUFCDan Hooker posts hilarious update on who wants to fight him in June

Dan Hooker posts a hilarious update after his previous tweet calling out any fighter who was available, had no response.

Hooker is probably one of the top lightweights who has actively been looking for a fight. He is coming off a massive KO loss at the hands of UFC newcomer Michael Chandler in the co-main event of UFC 257.

The number 8 ranked lightweight contender failed to capitalize on moving to the top of the lightweight ladder, and what’s more he was the favourite going into that fight as well.

With that opportunity done and dusted, yesterday, Hooker called out any fighter who was ready to fight, denoting that he was ready to fight in June.

He tweeted:

‘The Hangman’ patiently waited for a response, but then he received none. So, earlier today he jokingly mentioned that probably only crickets were available for a rumble with him in the month of June.

The best possible option for Hooker might be to face Rafael dos Anjos, who is currently ranked no. 7, and he has in fact, from time to time been expressing his desire to take on RDA.

Hooker even told Submission Radio recently:

鈥淚 like the RDA fight. Like, former champ, I respect his skillset, I respect the way he carries himself, and I feel like that鈥檚 a fight that makes a little more sense if he can鈥檛 get one of the bigger fights that he鈥檚 chasing, to kind of take him up on his offer.” [via LowKickMMA]

Dan Hooker’s opponent at UFC 257 Michael Chandler’s next fight is for the title

Had Hooker won at UFC 257, things might have been entirely different. His opponent Michael Chandler will now be fighting for the vacant lightweight title at UFC 262, on the 15th of May.

Hence, Hooker might have probably found himself one step away from glory, had he beaten the Bellator legend. Though Hooker is a happy-go-lucky guy, he would have surely been dejected when Chandler’s title fight was announced.

Chandler is scheduled to take on high-flying Brazilian, Charles Oliveira who is riding a massive eight-fight win streak. Chandler will also be wary of the impeccable ground-game the Brazilian has.
