In a recent Instagram story UFC lightweight Dan Hokker expressed his gratitude towards Israel Adesanya
City Kickboxing Academy has emerged as one of the best gyms to produce quality fighters in recent times. The prized possession of the fresh crop of exciting talent is reigning middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
The team is known for being extremely loyal and usually features multiple fighters on the same card. In a beautiful display of allegiance, Dan Hooker posted an Instagram story of Adesanya ahead of his rematch against Robert Whittaker this weekend.
He quoted, “My biggest mistake was thinking the world is bigger than it is. Izzy taught me that lesson and I’ll forever be grateful.”
In today’s MMA world where fighters switch camps with one bad performance, it is refreshing to see the level of loyalty and brotherhood that runs deep in the City Kickboxing camp.

Israel Adesanya has built himself up as one of the smartest fighters in and out of the octagon. While he depends upon his high fight IQ and diverse skillset to dismantle the opponent in the cage, he manages to stay witty and shrewd when it comes to building up fights and getting inside the opponent’s head.
The pair is set to face each other in an epic rematch in Houston this weekend and Adesanya made sure that he reminded Whittaker what happened the last time they fought.
When asked about his bling, “It’s on replay and it just shows the moment over and over and over and over and over again,” the Kiwi star said when asked about the chain.
This might be a bit of concern for Whittaker fans given the last time they fought ‘The Reaper’ froze as Izzy got inside his head.
