Jake Paul will take on Tyron Woodley next in his fourth professional boxing fight
Paul’s 4th boxing encounter will be against another debutant, but this time a ferocious one – Tyron Woodley. The fight is set to take place on the 28th of August. The weight class would be 190lbs with 10-ounce gloves.
Paul is coming off a first round knockout victory over Ben Askren on the 17th of April. He had previously beaten ex-Basketballer Nate Robinson and YouTuber AnesonGib.
Woodley, on the other hand, has been just released by the UFC. Not long ago, he was the welterweight champion in the promotion, and was one of the most feared strikers in the world.
Speaking in Mike Swick’s Real Quick podcast, UFC President Dana White gave props to ‘The Problem Child’ for stepping into the ring against a legitimate striker. However, he mentioned that Woodley wasn’t the old Woodley of late.
“Tyron Woodley has punching power and has put a lot of dudes to sleep in his career. Woodley doesn’t look like the Tyron Woodley of the past, that was putting everybody to sleep. He hasn’t won a fight in three years. But, I will give it to him, he’s at least stepping in with a guy who can punch.”
Jake Paul can become a real ‘Problem’ if he sees of Woodley
It is very true that, boxers face opponents who are down and out during the early phase of their careers. It has been the same with Paul, but he is getting more hate because of the limelight he is in.
Going into the fight against Woodley, the YouTuber has opened up as the slight favourite, while Woodley comes in as the underdog.
A win for Jake Paul, might shake up the boxing world, and hence he probably have to face a legit boxer next.
