UFC president Dana White made one startling claim about the current MMA stars

UFC president Dana White was speaking about Amanda Nunes and how great of a fighter she is.

The Brazilian holds belts in two UFC divisions and recently destroyed Felicia Spencer in a Featherweight title fight.

While White had a lot of great things to say about Nunes and how she should be considered in the GOAT (Greatest of all-time) debate, he had some tough things to say about the UFC roster.

White was speaking to TMZ sport and lashed out at several MMA stars:

“Most of the guys who come to the sport don’t know s*** about the sport anyway.

“Half of these guys have never been in a fight in their life. Not even half, 99.9% of them have never been in a fight in their life, and the 0.1% got beat up a few times, and that’s about it.”

White isn’t wrong in his suggestion that many MMA stars have never been in a right fight. However, suggesting that 99.9% of them haven’t seemed to be stretching things a bit.

A lot of fighters come from different backgrounds and work on their skills while getting better in the Octagon.

Jorge Masvidal is one fighter that actually took part in backyard brawls before making it to the world of MMA.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is another who has spoken about street fights while during up in Dagestan too.

Respecting Nunes

White, however, had great words for her and suggested that Nunes is now getting a lot of respect after the Spencer fight.

The UFC president also claimed that one reason why Nunes wasn’t in the GOAT debate was that she was a woman.

However, Nunes has been almost dominant since winning the Bantamweight and Featherweight titles. The Brazilian has beaten some of the best in the business such as Cris Cyborg, Valentina Shevchenko, Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate.

Nunes has a record of 20 wins and four losses, and most of her losses came early on in her career. She is certainly one of the greatest to have entered the Octagon and she still has a few more years at the top.
