“I love Diego Sanchez” – Dana White ready to do the needful for newly-released veteran

Digeo Sanchez very recently blasted UFC President Dana White for not treating him well

Sanchez was released by the UFC just ahead of his fight against Donald Cerrone on the 8th of May.

It all started when Sanchez’s coach Joshua Fabia asked for his client’s entire medical records, right from 2005. Sensing something was fishy, the UFC decided to probe into this.

Upon looking into it further, the promotion learned that Sanchez would not be able to provide any form of assurance regarding his health. And, hence he was immediately released from the UFC.

A series of nasty events involving Fabia unfolded. A bizarre training video showed Fabia throwing strikes at Sanchez who was hung upside down. The ‘self-awareness’ coach was lambasted for sucking the life out of Sanchez.

Fabia and Sanchez appeared in a lot of interviews and publicly accused UFC President Dana White of being a tyrant.

In a few days Sanchez decided to part ways with Fabia, and he did so, a week ago.

In the wake of this, White spoke to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, where he addressed the ‘Sanchez issue’.

Dana White is unsure if he would ever bring back Diego Sanchez for a fight

White was then asked about bringing back Sanchez to the UFC. The boss seemed unsure about it and pointed out how things turned awry in no time.

However, he did say that ‘The Nightmare’ is capable of landing in another promotion, after being released.

White told Iole:

“I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. Even when we were doing his farewell fight, I didn’t love it. I didn’t love the fact that he’s still fighting. But no matter what, if I let Diego go, he’ll probably end up somewhere else. That’s what I was thinking at the time. I love the kid so he wanted one more fight so I was going to give it to him and then all hell broke loose and here we are today.” [via MMA Fighting]
