Dana White clarified at the UFC 271 post fight press conference that the company had nothing to do with Joe Rogan’s absence
The biggest question circulating the UFC 271 fight week was the presence of Joe Rogan in the broadcast team.
Although a majority of fighters and the promotion stood by Rogan during these times, he still stayed away from work at UFC 271. The team had cited last-minute ‘scheduling conflicts’ as the reason behind the absence.
However during the post-fight press conference, Dana White was at his usual brutal honest self and clarified that Joe Rogan could’ve been present for the event, but he choose not to.
“There’s no conflict of schedule,” White said. “Joe Rogan didn’t work tonight. Joe Rogan could’ve worked tonight.”
Dana White stressed the fact that it was Rogan’s choice to stay away from the commentary booth.
“I don’t know what Joe Rogan had to do, you guys will have to ask Joe Rogan, but there was no ‘Joe couldn’t work’ or anything like that. I know that came out. It’s total bullsh*t.” [via MMA Fighting]
As the fate of Rogan’s presence still remains a question, MMA fans will be awaiting his return at next month’s PPV.
Tai Tuivasa’s stardom seems to be growing by the minute. Loved for his valiant fighting style and popular for his ‘Shoey’, the Aussie has turned out to be one of the biggest stars to emerge in the heavyweight division.
He made it clear during UFC 271 media interviews that he is not letting the UFC president get away from doing the shoey.
Unfazed by the media attention he received following the biggest win of his career, Tuivasa scored his biggest win when he got the boss man to join him in the celebration.
Tuivasa is slowly turning into a cult hero and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him catapult the division and fight for the title soon.
