UFC President Dana White addressed rumours surrounding the release of Jon Jones
Jon Jones got in trouble with the law once again.
Following the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony that took place on the 24th of September (in Las Vegas), Jones was arrested by the Los Angeles Metro Police.
He was charged with battery domestic violence, and was released a couple of days later after he posted bail.
Jones will have to appear at a Las Vegas court for a hearing on the 26th of October.
Later, chilling details about the lead up to his arrest emerged. Jones had attacked his partner Jessie Moses in the presence of their children. Fearing for her life, a bloodied Moses had fled the hotel.
It is worth noting that, Jones’ arrest comes in the wake of his planning to make a return to the Octagon.
He had made a move to the heavyweight division last year, and has only been packing on the muscle and putting in the work – he is yet to make his debut.
Dana White addresses Jon Jones’ UFC release
With so much trouble surrounding the LHW GOAT, UFC President Dana White addressed the possibility of releasing Jones.
In a recent interview with UFC reporters following Dana White’s Contender Series, White was asked if he would release Jones by any chance.
White replied that he had umpteen fighters in the company, and such kinds of problems happen on a regular basis, thereby brushing it off.
The boss was quoted as saying:
“I got 650 guys, that are here, you know? There’s sh*t that goes on here everyday. It’s the fight business man. Everyday, we’ve got stuff going on. Stuff that you don’t know about, that we deal with on a daily basis. You know, you guys just hear about the sh*t that ends up in the media…We’ll see how this thing plays out legally with him, and we’ll go from there.”
