UFC president Dana White is open-minded about a possible Logan Paul fight inside the octagon, having made some rigid claims in the past
Remember when Dana White once said that women will never compete inside the UFC octagon? The UFC president and the organization have come a long way since then, and White has learnt that you never say ‘no’ inside this business.
White made an appearance on the latest episode of ‘Impaulsive with Logan Paul’, and discussed his journey in the business, and UFC’s plans for the future. When asked about the possibility of Logan Paul fighting inside the UFC by Maverick himself, a member of the podcast team, White said, “Well, who would you want to fight? [It’s different] You have wrestling and boxing. You’ve done jiu-jitsu, right? I’m not saying no. I’m not saying no.”
This might flabbergast many given the feuding nature of White’s relationship with Logan’s younger brother Jake. But the fight would do huge numbers, given the star-power and PR force of Logan Paul.
UFC chief Dana White sat down with the older brother of Jake Paul, Logan for an episode of the ‘Impaulsive with Logan Paul’. Jake has been on a rampage against the UFC and Dana White, even releasing a diss track aimed at the top brass of the UFC.
Jake Paul has been calling out for a fight against UFC’s biggest star Conor McGregor for quite some time now- even suggesting a tempting one-off deal inside the octagon with win-or-bust stakes. The question of this fight was sure to pop-up and Dana had his riposte ready.
“Well, he shouldn’t even be fighting Conor McGregor,” White said. “These guys [the Pauls] are f huge. [Logan] is huge, his brother [Jake] is huge. What’s your brother, 6-foot-1, 210 [pounds]? Conor McGregor is 145, 155 pounds. … There’s weight classes for a reason.
“Do you think [Jake] could make ‘70?” White probed Logan.
“I don’t think so,” Logan Paul replied.
“Yeah, exactly. And it’s a stretch for Conor to fight at 170. He fought Nate [Diaz] at ‘70, that isn’t his f weight class, not even close.”
Jake was quick to react to this claim by White on Twitter and said,
“Dana White is begging for Diaz and Conor to fight for a third time. They have fought at 170 pounds in both their fights. I will fight Conor at 175 pounds, no problem. Stop making excuses p***y.”
