‘He probably should go on and fight Jake Paul’- Dana White reckons that fighting Jake Paul is Nate Diaz’s best option

Dana White reacts to Nate Diaz’s recent tweet suggesting that he wants to fight out his contract for a potential fight with Jake Paul

Earlier this week Nate Diaz tweeted at the UFC for a fight with ‘anyone’ in an attempt to bust a gut with a move away from the sport. He enclosed the post with a video of Jake Paul knocking out Tyron Woodley in their rematch, suggesting his next move- a mega-fight with the Youtuber turned boxer.

The younger Diaz brother was among the first wave of fighters that set motion to the fighter pay dispute. He has been vocal about his contract with the UFC, and along with his brother Nick, became the first of a very elite group of fighters to negotiate PPV points into their contract without a belt.

It’s being rumored that the UFC is stalling Diaz’s move by offering him difficult fights, while he has been throwing names at the UFC top brass for his last fight.

Nate posted a tweet by saying, ‘Ufc release now please or give me fight with anyone in July or august
I have bigger shit to do’

Ahead of UFC’s blockbuster UFC 276 event, Dana White has been speaking to the media as part of promotional activities. White spoke to Oscar Willis from The Mac Life, voicing his opinion on the whole incident.

White was surprisingly agog and all ears about the idea. He said, “I mean, I like Nate. Let’s be honest, Nate’s won one fight in the last five or six years,” White told TheMacLife. “You know? When these guys get into these positions, you’ve got guys that have been with us for a long time, that we respect, that we care about. You know, you’ve got Cerrones and Anthony Pettis before he left, and you’ve got Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz is still under contract with us. So you want to be fair to everybody, you want to do the right things or whatever. Nate Diaz isn’t going to come in and fight Kamaru Usman.

“So listen, we’re trying to do the best we can. We’re trying not to s*** on anybody and disrespect anybody, but it’s not like we’re talking about Kamaru Usman here. We’re talking about Nate Diaz. Nate’s won one fight in five years, so we’re trying to figure this thing out with him. He probably should go on and fight Jake Paul. That’s a fight that makes sense.”
