Nick Diaz was recently spotted at UFC 261 sparking rumors of a return to the UFC

It has been over six years since ‘West Coast Gangster’ Nick Diaz stepped inside the Octagon. He last fought Anderson Silva at UFC 183, after which a series of suspensions caused the death of his interest in the sport.

However, late in 2020, Diaz’s manager hinted at the ‘Stockton Bad Boy’ making a return to competitive fighting. In fact, Diaz himself has taken to training seriously, and has been looking in terrific shape of late.

After meeting up with Diaz who was in attendance at UFC 261 (Jacksonville), UFC President Dana White claimed that he wasn’t sure if Diaz had the same hunger he had in him during his prime.

But now, in a recent interview with Farah Hannoun of UFC Arabia, White has divulged that Diaz might return this year.

White was quoted as saying:

“I wasn’t very high on it. I didn’t think that it would happen, but looks like it will. It looks like Nick (Diaz) will fight this year…It looks like it’s going to happen…So, we’ll see…The matchmakers have (talked to Diaz). I don’t know where they’re at, but it’s looking promising.”

Nick Diaz’s brother Nate Diaz makes his UFC return this week

The Diaz brothers are one of the most famous siblings in the history of sports. Their never say die attitude has won them a lot of fans, and their fights are seldom unentertaining.

Nick Diaz’s younger brother Nate has also been out of action for quite a while. His last fight was against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 in November 2019.

After almost 2 years, ‘The Stockton Slugger’ is set to make a return. He will be taking on Leon Edwards at UFC 263 in a 5 round non-title fight (which is a first).

A win here for Nate might probably even put him in the welterweight title picture.
