Jon Jones and Dana White have had a love-hate relationship since ages

Jones is without a doubt the greatest light-heavyweight of all time. He has 14 wins to his light-heavyweight title debut resume, out of which 11 were consecutive.

After beating Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 last year, ‘Bones’ decided to vacate his belt in search of bigger pursuits and challenges – the heavyweight division. He did so in the month of August (2020), and expressed his desire to move to the heavyweight division.

Jones began putting on a ton of weight, and took to rigorous training, in order to face the wrath of the world’s strongest men. After an extensive period of inactivity, he was set to face Francis Ngannou, on his heavyweight debut.

That’s when his recent pay dispute with UFC President Dana White began. White accused Jones of demanding around $30 million for his fight against the Cameroonian.

Jones denied asking that much, but it did seem that he wanted a massive fight purse.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, White claimed that he will not wait for Jones anymore.

“I have absolutely moved on…I have been saying it since the beginning Derrick Lewis is the guy who should be getting this title shot…That’s a wrap. We’re moving on.”

Dana White has another suggestion for Jon Jones

White had another interesting suggestion for the light-heavyweight GOAT. He said Jones could very well go back to the light-heavyweight division and fight again or probably even bow out from the promotion.

The boss claimed there was “nothing wrong with going out on top”:

“”That’s up to Jon…He could absolutely fight again at 205…He said he wouldn’t fight Stipe…There is nothing wrong with going out on top either. Jon Jones is undefeated. He has never been beat.”

It is Jones‘ move now!
