“When she is” – Dana White addresses Kayla Harrison coming to the UFC

Just a week ago, Dana White didn’t seem open to Kayla Harrison joining the UFC

Kayla Harrison has been in an unstoppable force, ever since she made her MMA debut. The 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics Judo Gold medalist switched to mixed martial arts in June 2018.

Fighting predominantly in the PFL (Professional Fighters League), her record currently stands at 9 wins and 0 losses. She is the PFL women’s lightweight champion. She won it in her 7th professional fight at PFL 10 in December 2019.

Her recent victory over Mariana Morais at PFL 3 turned a ton of heads. She successfully defended her title against the Brazilian via. TKO in the first round.

The news reached the ears of UFC President Dana White, and he was asked to give his opinion on signing the PFL champ.

In an interview with Aaron Bronsteter of TSN last week, White brushed it off saying that she wasn’t UFC ready.

However, it looks like White has had a change in mind saying that the UFC was ready for her, once she was.

Speaking in an interview with Big Night Breaks on Instagram, White said:

“Yeah, I know her contract’s up soon. I don’t know if she’s ready to come over here yet, or her people feel she’s ready to come over here yet, but when she is, we’re ready.” [Transcription via MMA Junkie]

Cris Cyborg is open to fighting Kayla Harrison in the future

Kayla Harrison’s PFL contract is set to run out by the end of this year. A lot of speculations as to where Harrison would end up are already doing the rounds.

In the wake of this, UFC Legend and current Bellator featherweight women’s champion Cris Cyborg revealed if she would ever face Harrison, in case she moved to the Bellator.

She told Ariel Helwani:

“Yeah maybe, you know? Maybe. If she is gonna be in the Bellator for sure, we can make this fight happen.”
