Ignacio Bahamondes paid tribute to Anderson Silva with a front kick knockout at the Contender Series
The UFC Contender Series saw some brilliant fights with viral knockouts too. The weekly show sees Dana White give out contracts to those who impress and four fighters got the deal from the latest event.
One of those was Ignacio Bahamondes as the Chilean produced one of the greatest knockouts of the year.
The 23-year-old faced off against Edson Gomez and brought out a front kick. This move was made special by the great Anderson Silva and it landed perfectly. Gomez was out before he hit the floor and Bahamondes could celebrate.
The South American now holds a record of 11 wins and three losses and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
Whatever happens to Bahamondes in the UFC, Dana White was left extremely impressed by all this and had a couple of huge tweets for the rising star.
White seems to love the knockouts on the Contender’s Series and was at it again. While the UFC president loved all the knockouts on the show, he believed Bahamondes’ should be on Sportscenter as the play of the day:
The UFC president also had one word to describe the knockout, and it was perfect:
White always wants the people coming on this show to finish fights, and it comes as no surprise that all four winners got UFC contracts.
Bahamondes certainly had the best knockout of the night. However, it will be interesting to see how he does in the UFC.
