‘There’s something that’s called f****** man code’ – Dana White weighs in on Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington controversy

UFC President Dana White blasts Colby Covington for his antics trying to promote fights, and warns him that there are consequences to his actions

The fighting community has been divided ever since reports of Jorge Masvidal attacking Colby Covington at a restaurant in Miami first emerged. While some grievously condemned Jorge’s actions suggesting that he had 25 minutes at UFC 272 to do some damage, others are of the opinion that these are the repercussions of Covington’s disrespectful and insolent behavior over time.

Appearing Friday on The Pat McAfee Show, White was asked for his thoughts on the ongoing feud. The UFC boss expressed that he does not condone such actions, and Colby should be prepared for repercussions like these if he continues to push his heel envelope.

“I say this all the time, first of all, in no way shape or form do I ever condone violence in people, my guys fighting each other in the streets and s*** like that,” White said. “But on the flip side, when you’re dealing with a guy like Jorge Masvidal and you start talking about his family, all these fighters — listen, say what you want to say about me, you hate me, you think I’m ugly, whatever my thing is, but when you start talking about people’s families it goes to a whole ‘nother level. You talk about people’s families and you’re walking out of a restaurant and you better be ready for a guy like Jorge Masvidal to run up on you.

“Is anybody shocked that he talked s*** about his kids and his wife and you think that he’s not gonna do that? Of course he’s gonna do that.”

‘Him and Colby Covington next’- Dana White plots Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight should he win at UFC 273

Leading up to UFC 273 UFC president Dana White had suggested that the welterweight bout between Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns will determine the next title contender at 170.lbs. However during UFC London, White had pledged that Leon Edwards is the next in line for the title, and the UFC head honcho has other plans for Chimaev should he win at UFC 273.

Chimaev oozes confidence when he speaks, and it is his unrivalled and nonpareil work ethic that is the source of this belief. The Chechen was the star attraction at the UFC 273 pre-fight media scrum and answered all the questions with his usual boldness and mettle.

When asked about a potential fight with number one ranked contender Colby Covington, Chimaev felt that the American will turn down a fight against him or go running for the cops. He even elucidated further that the ‘Chaos’ should be cut from the UFC.
