Daniel Cormier is a big fan of WWE and has hinted at moving to the promotion in the past
UFC legend Daniel Cormier is at Fight Island to call some of the big clashes but also spoke about his possible future in WWE.
The retired UFC star is one of the biggest MMA names ever and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he moved to WWE.
Cormier has posted updates regarding WrestleMania and more with his children and was speaking to the Schmo recently.
The Schmo asked what DC’s name would be in WWE, which was an inevitable move. DC claimed he would go with a boring name and not have a creative one:
“I don’t know, I would like to try something pretty creative but at this point, my name has become so, I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but I think you have to use the same name.
“So I don’t get to play with it as much as I would have if nobody knew me but because of the exposure I have had in the UFC I think I just have to go with Daniel Cormier and that’s a pretty boring name.”
Taking up someone’s gimmick
DC also told the Schmo that he enjoys doing such interviews, and joked a bit about a gimmick he might steal.
The Schmo has created quite a character in the MMA world and DC suggested he would steal his gimmick:
“I get it maybe I will steal your name, I am not above stealing gimmicks. Maybe I will steal your gimmick and start using it in the WWE.”
It will be interesting to see if DC ever makes the switch to WWE. There were plans of him taking up a commentator’s role, something he does extremely well in the UFC.
However, Cormier could be a star in the ring too thanks to his wrestling background. There have been many MMA stars who have switched to WWE, and DC could be the next one.
