Tyron Woodley was comprehensively defeated by Colby Covington in his latest UFC fight

Colby Covington vs Tyron Woodley was a fight that many wanted in the UFC wanted to see. The pair had traded barbs over the years and this was a fight nearly five years in the making.

Woodley was coming off two losses, both really damaging ones. This was Covington’s first fight since losing to Kamaru Usman and breaking his jaw in that clash.

The pair talked the talk before the fight but only one walked the walk. Covington was supreme in this fight as he won all the first four rounds with ease. He then got the win in the final round via TKO but there was no doubting who the winner would have been had it gone the distance.

Covington was streets ahead of Woodley and is planning to get back into the title scene. While Covington wants Usman, there are some concerns for Woodley.

Cormier wants Woodley to reflect on his performances

One of those concerned for the former champion is Daniel Cormier. The recently retired UFC star is considered as one of the greatest ever and is a former UFC Heavyweight champion.

While Cormier also has had his ups and downs, he shared his thoughts on the fight. DC might not be a fan of Convington’s career, but he was impressed by his ability to fight.

However, he brought up Woodley’s recent record and how he has been dominated for 15 rounds straight:

“Very hard to see this last stretch of fights for my man @TWooodley. That’s like 15 rounds in a row where he hasn’t been able to get going. Gotta take a real look at what’s next. But great win by Colby!!”

It will be interesting to see what happens next for Woodley. He certainly looked a little beat down and despondent after the fight.

This was also the first time Woodley had lost three consecutive fights in his MMA career. However, if anyone can bounce-back after this, it is the former champion.
