Khamzat Chimaev will be accompanied by his dear friend Darren Till as a cornerman at UFC 273 against Gilbert Burns
Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev’s comradeship had got the world talking and the important question building up to UFC 273 is Darren Till’s involvement in Chechen’s team.
The ‘smesh’ bros made an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, where Chimaev spoke about the current landscape of the welterweight division, his desire to train with Jon Jones one day, and his upcoming fight with Gilbert Burns at UFC 273.
When asked whether Till will be Chimaev’s corner for the fight, the English man responded by saying, ” Yes. I will be. I just signed the documents. I will be in the corner at UFC 273. I have been helping him prepare for this fight. ”
This flourishing brotherhood is one of the most trending topics in MMA today, and the pair even confirmed that they will never fight each other inside the octagon.
‘He has zero wrestling’ – Chimaev previews Israel Adesanya match-up to be easier than a fight with Kamaru Usman
Khamzat Chimaev is known for his dominant display inside the octagon and personality high on self-esteem. Chimaev has won all four of his fights inside the UFC octagon by finishes and has competed in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. The nature of his supremacy is reflected in a never seen before stat which shows that he’s only been at the receiving end of a cumulative three strikes in his four matches.
He made an appearance alongside his new ‘best-friend’ Darren Till on the recent episode of The MMA Hour. Speaking about potential fights in the future, Chimaev said that he believes Kamaru Usman would be a tougher competition for him than jumping up in weight class and competing with middleweight king Israel Adesanya.
“‘Izzy,’ I think it will be more easy for me to smash that guy,” Chimaev told MMA Fighting. “He has zero wrestling. The guy he fought last time [Robert Whittaker], he’s not a wrestler — he took his back. If I take his back, brother, I’ll squeeze his head off. I’ll take his head off. Easy money for me.”
