“It would be a good fight” – Darren Till expresses his interest to fight Sean Strickland

In a recent interview with Freak MMA, Darren Till indicated his willingness to fight top-ranked middleweight Sean Strickland

Darren Till has had a rough past couple of years. Once regarded as a top prospect and having fought for the welterweight gold, Till has lost four of his previous five outings.

His last fight was in September 2021 against Derek Brunson, which he lost by submission. He has identified a likely opponent in zestful figure Sean Strickland on his path to career reinvigoration.

During an interview with Freak MMA, Till pinpointed a few names he had in mind for his octagon return.

He said, “I would like to fight Sean Strickland. I don’t know if that fight could happen. I know he’s on a good win streak, and I’m coming off a loss, but I think it would be a good fight, where like trash talk and standup fighting with each other. I’d like to fight Sean Strickland if that opportunity came about. As I said, I respect him, and I know he’s on a win streak, but I think it would be a good fight.”

He also had other names on his mind should a fight with Strickland fail to materialize, including a fight with Strickland’s last opponent Jack Hermansson.

He could be, as well,” Till said on Hermansson. “He’s coming off a loss to Sean, so that’s a possibility. It could be Jack, as well. I don’t know. There’s a lot of options. There’s a lot of opportunities. I’ve signed a new contract with the UFC anyway, so I’ve got another like four or five-fight contract thanks to my coach. My coach sorted that.”

Nevertheless, Darren Till is all the more determined on reinforcing his name in the title contention picture. A fight against Sean Strickland makes sense for him on paper, given his style of fighting and would also be an interesting clash of personalities.

Uriah Hall claims Darren Till is scared of fighting him

Uriah Hall is booked to fight Andre Muniz at the UFC’s April 16th event. But Hall has been calling out for a fight against Darren Till on social media for a while now.

In a recent interview with The Schmo, Hall slammed Darren Till for being petrified to fight him and unwillingness to sign the dotted line.

“I wanted Darren Till, but he’s just being a punk ass b*tch,” Hall said. “I don’t know what happened, or if he’s playing the UFC or what not, but he’s the guy that makes sense.

“I wanted him, but I think he’s just scared. I think he’s really scared, either that, or he’s injured or some sh*t. He’s always making excuses. That’s how I look at him, he talks smack but I know when I stand in front of him he’s gonna be quiet. So I know I can beat him, I just know I can beat him. He’s short, he sucks, he’s ugly and I just know I can kick his ass.” [via MMA Fighting]

Darren Till has been working relentlessly towards booking a fight for his return, and Uriah Hall is amongst the few names that is being thrown towards him.
