Derek Brunson revealed what the goofy Darren Till has been up to, lately
Brunson is slowly making his way up the middleweight division. The American is currently ranked number 5 and is riding an impressive four-match win streak, having not lost since 2018.
His last win against a (previously) marauding and bustling Kevin Holland, showed how good Brunson can be on the ground. He sent Holland to the point of exasperation, as he began asking (in the middle of the fight) Khabib Nurmagomedov who was one of the spectators, for ground game tips.
Elsewhere, number 6 ranked middleweight Darren Till is slowly losing his credibility due to inactivity. He was scheduled to face Marvin Vettori on the 10th of April, earlier this year, but pulled out due to a collarbone injury.
This resulted in the Englishman moving out of the top 5 of the middleweight rankings. And, it looks like he has found a new hobby.
Brunson spoke about how Till has been bombarding him with weird DMs, in an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN. He went on to reveal the weirdness and contradictory nature of Till’s DMs.
Brunson told Okamoto:
“He likes to smile, say, ‘I hope you and the family have a good week,’ then he’ll send a middle finger. Till’s all over the place, man. The guy’s a little different.” [via ESPN MMA]
That’s the inner Scouse of Till acting up!
Derek Brunson has expressed his desire to fight Darren Till.
In the same interview with Brett Okamoto, Brunson claimed that he had always wanted to fight the Liverpool man.
He then acknowledged Till’s stand-up fighting, also calling him a very tricky guy.
Brunson also revealed that he tried calling out Paulo Costa, but there was not much of a response from the Brazilian, and hence he decided that Till would be a good stylistic matchup.
