Deiveson Figueiredo will be taking on Brandon Moreno this weekend at UFC 263
Figueiredo vs Moreno will be co-headlining this weekend’s UFC 263. The Brazilian will be defending his flyweight title against tough and durable Moreno.
The pair is coming off a war, after previously having fought at UFC 256, which happened to be their last fights.
The 5-round fight ended in a majority draw, and was undoubtedly one of the fights of the year. Both Figueiredo and Moreno went biff! wham! pow! with Figueiredo going straight to the hospital after the fight.
‘Daico‘ will be looking forward to get the better of the ‘Assassin Baby’ this time.
In a recent exclusive interview with UFC, Figueiredo clearly conveyed that there was some bad blood between him and Moreno going into the fight.
He went on to explain that he was only 30 percent of his own self during their last meeting at UFC 256, but still managed to put on a show.
Figueiredo was quoted as saying:
“Brandon talks too much. I was really sick the first time — I was 30 percent of what I can be — and I still won, so imagine me at 100 percent. He said I wasn’t sick and he’s going to knock me out this time, but I’m going to show him that he’s wrong.” [via UFC.com]
Speaking further in the same interview, Figueiredo revealed his ambitions to finish Moreno and prove why he is the flyweight champion.
A confident Figueiredo exclaimed:
“I will beat him and prove to him that I am the champion. I will surround him in the first round — he’ll try to run, but I will catch him. I am going to knock him out and keep my belt.” [via UFC.com]
It is worth noting that both Figueiredo and Moreno have never been finished in their respective careers.
