“Delusional”, “Sad” – UFC fans blast Conor McGregor’s claims of destroying Khabib Nurmagomedov in possible rematch

Dana White has suggested that the current Conor McGregor could be booked in a rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor makes his long awaited comeback to the UFC as he battles Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

This is a rematch from their clash from a few years back and it was McGregor who got the win in that battle.

However, the Notorious One has plans for another big clash too. He was speaking to SportsCenter and claimed to have the answers to destroy Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The pair met at UFC 229 and it was Khabib that got the win after dominating McGregor. The Irishman was made to tap out in the match too and he took a long sabbatical before meeting Donald Cerrone.

McGregor was still impressive in that fight as he defeated the Cowboy in 40 seconds.

Dana White, the UFC president, has also spoken about setting up this clash recently. While he got slated for making the suggestion, since Khabib had retired and the Russian had easily defeated McGregor, the Irishman also felt the wrath of the UFC fans.

McGregor is quality, there is no doubt, but it seems that Khabib is on a different level compared to the Irishman.

Further, Khabib’s coach has also said that Poirier should be in the talk for a future title shot, even if Khabib doesn’t return to the UFC.

It is to be seen how that problem is dealt with. White was to have met Khabib to discuss his future on Friday. Khabib might return for his 30th and final fight but many predict this would be against the legendary Georges St-Pierre.

While that is a fight that everyone wants to see, many believe that McGregor would be destroyed again in his Khabib rematch.
