“One last ride”- Demian Maia wants to face Nate Diaz in his last UFC fight

Demian Maia and Nate Diaz have been a part of the UFC since 2007

Both Demian Maia and Nate Diaz fought in the main card of the recently concluded UFC 263. Maia took on Belal Muhammad, while Diaz faced Leon Edwards in the first five-round non-title fight in UFC history.

Both the veterans ended up losing their games, but not without a fight. Now Maia, who is 43-years old, has been considering retirement of late.

In a recent interview prior to UFC 263, Maia had revealed that he might fight once after the Muhammad fight.

And more recently, Maia has come up with whom he would like to fight in a Twitter post. It was none other than fellow welterweight Nate Diaz. Maia wrote that he would be honored to have his last fight against someone as real as Diaz.

Maia’s tweet read:

Ariel Helwani explains why Nate Diaz is loved so much

Diaz put on a show against Leon Edwards, just like he always does. After being dominated by Edwards for 24 minutes of the 25-minute fight, ‘The Stockton Slugger’ almost won the match in the last minute alone, sending the fans into a wild frenzy.

In the latest episode of DC & Helwani MMA Show, Ariel Helwani explained why Diaz is loved so much by the fans.

“Those 60 seconds are why Nathan Diaz is the legend that he is. No matter what, no matter the circumstances, no matter the cut, the blood, all that stuff, no matter the fact that he was losing 24 minutes of that fight, he is able to win people over like that.”

Surely, Nate Diaz is not done yet, and he is going nowhere!
