Demian Maia is one of the most respected MMA stars ever and had a wonderful reaction to some news

Paul Craig was in action at UFC London where he defeated Nikita Krylov. Bearjew also got a $50,000 bonus for the win, but there was another story that surfaced during the event.

Jose Young, of MMA Fighting, posted that Craig had named his daughter Maia after the MMA star Demian Maia.

The Brazilian, who last fought in the UFC in 2021, is considered as one of the best MMA stars ever. While Maia never won a title in his UFC career, he did fight a couple of times for the belt.

The 44-year-old posted a tweet when learning of this news, and it got a lot of great reactions from social media.

Maia ended his UFC career on the back of two losses. He did fight Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva for their respective titles but lost both fights.

Paul Craig continuing his march up the rankings

While Maia’s time in the UFC came to an end a while back, the same cannot be said about Bearjew.

The 34-year-old is undefeated in his last six outings and has five wins in those. He also has four Performance of the Night bonuses in his last six fights and is moving up the ladder.

Craig is currently ranked #8 in the Light Heavyweight rankings, but that should improve in the coming weeks.

It will be interesting to see who he might face next, and a few more wins could get him into title contention.

The Light Heavyweight division has a huge fight with champion Glover Teixeira taking on Kiri Prochazka. The pair were to fight at UC 274 but that has been shifted to UFC 275.

Craig will have one eye on this fight, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top at UFC 275.
