Conor McGregor is known for talking trash in the Octagon but Khabib Nurmagomedov gave him some of that back at UFC 229

UFC 229 will go down as one of the greatest events in the history of the promotion. It pitted Khabib Nurmagomedov, the undefeated rising star, against Conor McGregor, a two-division champion that always talked big and won big.

McGregor, as his usual self, talked a lot of trash to Khabib before the fight. This was a normal tactic used by the Irishman and had worked extremely well over the years.

However, Khabib was different than the other fighters. He maintained his decorum before the fight but during the clash he decided to dish a lot of punishment out.

He got McGregor to submit and then it went all crazy as both stars attacked others outside the Octagon. Khabib also talked a lot of trash while pummelling McGregor and that remains one of the great moments in UFC history.

Although this was nothing compared to the foul language that McGregor uses, it still was pretty funny to see someone dish this sort of punishment out to a great star like the Irishman.

Derrick Lewis would be mad at such a situation

This has become a talking point for many and Joe Rogan brought up McGregor’s trash talking abilities with Derrick Lewis on his podcast.

Lewis claimed to be a fan of McGregor’s tactics, however, Rogan was quick to bring up how it didn’t work for the Irishman against Khabib.

Lewis was asked how he felt and the Black Beast brought up a hilarious reaction to this:

“I would be so mad about that.

“You probably have to catch me in the parking lot.”

Lewis then added that Khabib is good but Rogan lavished praise on the Russian. Rogan claimed that Khabib was the greatest Lightweight ever and brought up his 29-0 record.

Khabib has also lost just one or two rounds in his entire MMA career but has retired from action. The 30th fight might never happen for the Russian but he will always be considered as one of the greatest MMA stars ever.
