Former professional boxer and striking coach of Francis Ngannou, Dewey Cooper claims that the Cameroonian’s power is out of this world.
Ngannou is all the rage in the UFC heavyweight division right now. ‘The Predator’ knocked out Stipe Miocic in their rematch at UFC 260, thereby clinching the heavyweight title.
Miocic who is known for his extremely durable chin, folded like a chair as Ngannou’s short left hook connected, thereby exemplifying the scary power the African possessed.
Ngannou holds the record for the world’s hardest punch, as he surpassed kickboxer’s Tyrone Spong’s previously held record, when he recorded a stupendous 129,161 units.
UFC President Dana White even claimed that his punch was equivalent to being hit by a Ford Escort travelling at maximum speed. (which many have disputed)
Speaking in an interview with RT Sport, Cooper spoke about Ngannou’s unreal power and from where he got that God-given attribute.
An amazed Cooper told RT Sport:
“Francis’s power – two words…Enormous. It’s just enormous. And the next one I would say magnanimous. It’s just something out of this planet. It belongs somewhere in space. It’s unreal man. But I’m telling you the power is real.”
And, then Cooper revealed where he believes Ngannou got his power from
“The power came from the way he grew up, digging the dirt his whole life in the sand mines of Africa. God-given attributes…He’s strong, he’s naturally strong.”

The spotlight is right now on Jon Jones, who is yet to make his heavyweight debut, after making a move from light-heavyweight last year. He is expected to face Ngannou on his heavyweight debut.
Barring a payment dispute between Dana White and Jones, the fight will most likely commence this year, as ‘Bones’ looks like he is in the final form. He is put on a lot of muscle and weight, giving rise to just one question – will it affect his precision and striking speed?
Ngannou is entirely based on raw power, only then comes technique and other attributes. Whereas for Jon, it is technique which comes first. He always finds a way out of tough fights due to his agile nature.
But can he do it after packing on almost 50lbs?
