New released UFC veteran Diego Sanchez made a surprise statement on social media about a potential move to boxing
It has been a weird 45 days for Diego Sanchez. The UFC veteran was released from the UFC, just ahead of his fight against Donald Cerrone, on the 28th of April.
His manager Joshua Fabia asking for Sanchez’s entire medical records and Sanchez failing to provide assurance on his health were the reasons why ‘The Nightmare’ was released with immediate effect.
Sanchez and Fabia then came out and accused Sean Shelby and Dana White of having illicit affairs with UFC women fighters. Following their accusation, a bizarre training video of Sanchez and Fabia emerged.
Fabia was blasted for being a leech and sucking the life out of his client. On the 21st of May, Sanchez and Fabia announced their split.
And since then, Sanchez looks like a free bird. In a recent Tweet, he has revealed that he would be trying his hand at boxing soon.
His tweet read:
“I built my name, I built my skill set, I built my legacy and I will finish my fight career on the confidence I built in my self! Not a coach not a team but blessings from God! #boxing“
Since Sanchez is at the Twilight phase of his career, he can try his hand at a plethora of possibilities. There were suggestions of Sanchez fighting Jake Paul, in the immediate aftermath of his release from the UFC.
Even UFC Fighter Michael Chiesa pointed out to the same. However, Sanchez is not a well accomplished striker, he is more of a grappler.
The Nightmare should probably seek inspiration from UFC legend Anderson Silva, who is 46 years old and still going strong.
