Jose Aldo put on a masterclass against Rob Font in the main event of UFC Vegas 44
‘The King of Rio’ Jose Aldo saw off Rob Font in the main event of UFC Vegas 44 with ease. The former featherweight champion had little to no trouble getting past Font, despite being outstruck.
It was Font who got off to a flying start. Aldo then put the skids on Font and almost finished him in the very first round.
Had there been 30 seconds more the fight would have come to a stop in round 1.
In the later rounds, Font survived a couple of knockdowns once again. Aldo was just not able to get the finish.
However, after five rounds he had done more than enough to get his third-straight win in the UFC. Aldo scored 50-45, 50-45 and 49-46 on the judges’ scorecards.
Following Aldo’s win, Dillon Danis, Conor McGregor’s jiu-jitsu coach (now probably ex), lauded the Brazilian.
Taking to Twitter, Danis wrote:
“Aldo a monster.”
Daniel Cormier hails Jose Aldo following the latter’s win
Daniel Cormier spearheaded the commentary duties at UFC Vegas 44. The former fighter was amazed by Aldo’s stunning performance.
Cormier wrote on Twitter:
“The king of Rio is the man! @josealdojunior what a fight. Hard fight and so much heart from @RobSFont.”
Aldo, currently unbeaten in his last three fights, might possibly fight for the bantamweight title once again.
